2016 Innovation Mission to the USA

30 October - 4 November 2016

Seattle and Silicon Valley, USA

AmCham’s Innovation Mission returns to the USA in 2016 with visits to a range of world class American innovators. Along the way, delegates will be exposed to how innovative thinking drives success among the major players in and around Seattle and Silicon Valley. Plus, you will return to Australia with exciting networks, ideas and practical solutions to implement in your own organisation!

AmCham’s Innovation Mission places Australian business leaders at the cutting edge of technological development. Drawing inspiration from the success of world class American companies, delegates are primed to apply innovative solutions at home. Through this mission, we hope to continue to foster new relationships – building an “innovation bridge” between Australia and the US. By nurturing these kinds of partnerships on our two shores, we strive to create a dynamic business ecosystem – one that is more productive, competitive, and innovative.

This year will see delegates travel first to Seattle, visiting exciting sites such as the Boeing facility in Everett, Microsoft, Amazon, Blue Origin, the University of Washington and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. From there, we will travel to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, where we expect to meet with Tesla, HP Inc., Salesforce, Stanford University, Levi Strauss & Co and more, plus explore the innovation environment that sprung tech giants Google, Facebook, and Apple. Meeting formats will include discussions, case studies, keynote addresses, panel sessions, roundtables, dinners, and Q&A forums.

WHAT OUR PREVIOUS DELEGATES HAD TO SAY

"This mission was one of the best business development and learning trips of my life."

"Personally I felt very privileged to spend time with such companies and professionally this really allowed us to reflect on how we can drive global business improvements, culture and innovation."

"Packed week, great companies, great senior access at many. Best way to finish something is wanting more, and I think that's how we all felt leaving Tesla on Friday afternoon."
