As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide continue to rise, exceeding 165 million since the virus first spread, AmCham is seeing innovation, care and support from its members to manage the crisis. Some companies are providing around-the-clock support to its customers and employees, while others are filling gaps in medical supply, technology, safety and travel, to name just a few. 3M The New York Times wrote on March 20, 2020, that 3M Co has doubled the production of N95 respirator masks over the last two months. The company is also investing more in longer-term demands as the duration of this virus is yet to be determined....

 

ABBVIE AbbVie is collaborating with select health authorities and institutions globally on clinical research related to COVID-19. AbbVie is supporting clinical studies and basic research, working closely with European health authorities and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health and Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to coordinate on these efforts....

AMGEN On March 23, 2020, the Amgen Foundation announced that they will commit up to $12.5M to support COVID-19 relief efforts. These funds will be used to support emergency response efforts both in Amgen’s US and international communities. The foundation will also match donations made by Amgen staff around the globe....

 

APPLE Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said on 25 March, 2020, that the tech giant is giving 10 million masks to healthcare workings in the US in an effort to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. “These people deserve a debt of gratitude for all the work they’re doing on the front lines” Cook said....

CHEVRON has provided a $300,000 contribution from the Chevron Global Community Fund to Give2Asia, for work with the China Women’s Development Foundation. The donation, managed by Give2Asia, will assist CWDF in supplying medical equipment and materials to patients and responders in Hubei Province...
