Leanne Kemp | Queensland Chief Entrepreneur

Leanne Kemp is Queensland's third Chief Entrepreneur, following on from Steve Baxter and inaugural Chief, Mark Sowerby.

Leanne is the Founder & CEO of Everledger, a leading emerging technology enterprise that tracks the provenance of high-value assets on a global digital ledger in an authenticated immutable manner.

Using her extensive background in emerging technology, business, jewellery and insurance, Leanne is pushing boundaries with Everledger in building a global verification system that asserts transparency along the entire supply chain process.

This enables the tracking and protection of high-value assets, mitigating risk and fraud in global marketplaces.

Her leadership role in technology has been recognised, winning awards including the 2018 Advance Australia Award, Innovator of the Year 2018 at the Women in IT Awards (London) as well as being named in UK Business Insider’s 26 Coolest Women in UK Tech 2016. Leanne was named Brummell Magazine’s Top 30 Female Innovators 2016 and is also an IBM Champion for 2018.

Leanne is an appointed member of the World Economic Forum’s Blockchain Council and a Co-Chair for the World Trade Board's Sustainable Trade Action Group and is on the IBM Blockchain Platform Board of Advisors.

Ben van Delden | Partner | Head of AgriFood Tech & Markets,

For more than 19 years at KPMG, Ben has specialised in providing audit, accounting, innovation and business growth services to public and private organisations operating in agribusiness, consumer and industrial markets, transport and logistics, entertainment, media and real estate. Ben is a chartered accountant and has worked on various client assignments in markets across Australia, Europe, Japan, New Zealand and South America.

Driven by a clear sense of purpose and a passion for the agribusiness sector, Ben has worked extensively in this sector on both sides of the Tasman. He was a judge and steering committee member of the New Zealand Food Awards and active participant in New Zealand’s agribusiness industry before relocating to Australia in 2014, where he now leads KPMG’s Agri-Food Tech sector team and SmartFarming IoT business. Raised in an entrepreneurial family, Ben has worked in family businesses in aquaculture, livestock, horticulture, tourism and food. Ben enjoys applying these startup skills to the emerging fields of Agri-Food Tech and SmartFarming, developing solutions to sector challenges and opportunities.

As Head of Markets for KPMG Australia, Ben and his specialist business development teams work to support clients build, protect and realise their value. He works closely with counterparts across KPMG’s regional and global network to ensure KPMG clients access the specialist expertise needed for them to prosper across the markets important to them.

Ben has been driving KPMG’s exploration and activation of our Purpose, inspiring confidence, empowering change and supports leaders to discover, articulate and activate purpose in their organisations.

Jackie Taranto | Chief QODE Officer

Jackie Taranto has over 30 years of business experience, strong connections to federal and state governments in Australia and overseas (including Germany, India, China, Israel and the USA), and an extensive network of business contacts in Australian industry, research and education.

In 2000, Jackie founded Hannover Fairs Australia which built and launched CeBIT Australia, the number one technology and innovation business event in the Asia-Pacific region from 2001 to 2015 when Jackie last ran the event. She was nominated in The Australian’s Top 50 Most Influential People in IT and telecommunications in Australia, in 2013 and 2014.

Professor David Lamb | Chief Scientist, FOOD AGILITY CRC
McClymont Distinguished Professor (Research), University of New England

David is a physicist whose research interests include applied optics and precision agriculture. He has worked in precision agriculture for more than 25 years and has led more than 40 industry-funded R&D projects. David established the University of New England's Precision Agriculture Research Group, and the internationally renowned SMART Farm project. He recently completed national reviews of telecommunications challenges and opportunities for Australian agriculture and the livestock feedlot sector. He is a member of the National Positioning Infrastructure Advisory Board and is an advisor on a number of agricultural sector-specific technical innovation groups and communities of interest. David currently serves as the UNE-hosted, Chief Scientist in Food Agility, a $150M+, 10 year Cooperative Research Centre focussed on transforming the agrifood sector using the power of digital.

He is also the Australian representative for the International Society for Precision Agriculture.

Dr Jerad A Ford has spent nearly two decades creating innovation-driven strategies in a variety of sectors, from renewable energy to fast moving consumer goods. His current role is Manager - Innovation Services at CSIRO Futures, the Strategic Advisory Arm of Australia's National Science Agency. In this position he helps industry and government clients identify strategic opportunities and capture them by harnessing science, technology and innovation. Futures also publishes a number of thought-leading reports (free to download) including our national Food and Agribusiness Roadmap, and the very recent Future of Health Report.
