About the Webinar

As the economic impact of COVID-19 continues to escalate, multinational groups may find that established Transfer Pricing policies no longer give rise to arm’s length outcomes due to unprecedented disruptions to global workforces, supply chains and customer demand. It is likely that most groups will experience at least some impact due to the far-reaching extent of the ongoing global economic disruption.

Whether you are an affiliate of a US multinational or an Australian headquarter with affiliates in the US, this practical webinar will provide you with insights on how COVID-19 impacts Transfer Pricing arrangements, how to assess the Transfer Pricing risks it presents and strategies to best navigate these risks.

Examples of what we will cover in our panel discussion include:
  • Leveraging flexibility in existing arrangements to preserve cash and manage risk
  • Strategies for utilising tax attributes such as net operating losses in various jurisdictions
  • Proactively implementing policy changes given the combination of COVID-19 and lower tax rates in the US following recent tax reform
  • Impact on IRS and ATO compliance review programs, APAs, compliance obligations and penalties
  • Government support for businesses and Transfer Pricing implications (e.g., Trump and Morrison's Stimulus Package)
  • Special considerations for limited risk or ‘routine’ entities, including potential flexibility in contractual arrangements to flex transfer pricing results and the potential application of force majeure clauses
  • Business outlook and initial response from our Australian and US clients
  • Analysing and documenting the economic impact on your business to mitigate penalties.
