Is your company expanding to the United States? AmCham is offering a special workshop for Australian companies looking to explore the US market.
AmCham's upcoming workshop will be particularly useful for decision makers, small businesses and start-ups, this workshop will be highlighting the key ins and outs of doing business in the United States. This is your opportunity to learn more about expansion into the US and investment strategies, support services, operational and legal considerations, and where to get help - get practical tips and guidance to help you set up, grow and develop your business.
The workshop will cover:

Speaker Biographies
Duncan Archibald, Commercial Specialist, US Commercial Service, US Department of Commerce
Over 15 years’ experience working with the U.S. Government’s pre-eminent trade and marketing agency. Duncan is a professional and creative business development and relationship builder with comprehensive experience assisting U.S. ICT, automotive aftermarket and financial services companies enter and sell products and solutions into the Australian market through forming alliances with the local channel or through establishing subsidiary offices. Experience with dealing with, and marketing/selling solutions to C-level executives at blue-chip companies, and Australian government agencies. Duncan also has responsibility for promoting foreign direct investment from Australia into the U.S. as the Commerce Department’s SelectUSA representative in Australia.
Blair Lucas, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, CoSec
As Co-Founder and CEO of CoSec, Blair leads the team making the complex simple for offshore companies looking to Australia or the USA to undertake research and development, sell their product, or invest in a business.
Having acted as Company Secretary and in-house counsel for several private and public companies in both China and Australia, Blair applies his in-depth knowledge of corporate regulatory environments to help offshore companies establish a presence in Australia and the USA.
As an expert in international expansions, Blair has participated in several global accelerator programs, including Austrade's San Francisco Landing Pad, Sydney Landing Pad, and Startupbootcamp. Blair has spoken at numerous conferences and events worldwide, including London Tech Week, Biotech Showcase in San Francisco, Austrade’s AgTech Summit in Tel Aviv, and various events in Australia.
Angela Foley, Managing Director, Foley & Associates
Angela has worked in the field of international trade and investment attraction for over 30 years. She established Foley & Associates Pty Ltd in Sydney in 2002. Today her firm acts as the authorized trade representative for 9 American States and several European economic development agencies. In this capacity she assists organizations from those regions to successfully enter and grow their export sales in the Australian and New Zealand markets. For the US State of Pennsylvania Angela’s firm also acts as their authorized investment attraction representative. Through this program, which is funded by Pennsylvania’s Office of International Business Development, Angela and her team support local Australian and New Zealand companies that are considering establishing a U.S. presence. Angela is an expert on advising local firms on how best to access the services of American State and regional economic development agencies as they can assist with US market entry strategies and site selection. She regularly provides advice on Pennsylvania’s capabilities; infrastructure strengths; available sites; business assistance programs; workforce capabilities and labour / office set-up costs etc. Further she offers comparative data between Pennsylvania and other US States to assist local firms select a US location that fits best with their business model and US market entry requirements.
