Dr Julian Morison, Director, BDO EConSearch

Julian has over 30 years’ experience in applied economic analysis, particularly related to agriculture, fisheries, transport infrastructure and regional economic development.

He has conducted numerous economic analysis research projects and consultancies for various firms and government organisations, several of which have involved workshops and seminars on input-output methods, cost benefit analysis and other analytical tools.

Benjamin Schwartz, Chief Financial Officer, Bird in Hand Winery

Ben Schwartz joined Bird in Hand winery as Chief Financial Officer in 2014, having spent two decades working in financial management in a number of different sectors in South Australia following obtaining a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide.

Bringing with him advanced financial and operational knowledge, at Bird in Hand, Ben manages all financial aspects of the business including strategy, budgeting and forecasting. His business acumen is vital to the ongoing success of Bird in Hand, where his sophisticated financial modelling ensures accuracy in forecasting and analysis.   

He also oversees the legal and compliance elements of the company, ranging from intellectual property to liaison with key suppliers and partners.  

Professor Mehdi Doroudi, Deputy Chief Executive, PIRSA

Mehdi has worked as a policy maker, an academic researcher and as an industry consultant in policy advice, science innovation and commercial operation in the field of primary industries and natural resource management over the past 30 years. He completed his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Tehran University and his PhD at the School of Marine Biology and Aquaculture, James Cook University. He also holds an affiliate professorial position with the University of Adelaide.
