Business Briefing with Justin Milne, Chairman, ABC
The ABC is Australia’s largest creative employer and plays a significant role in the lives of all Australians. Its programs have helped to shape our national conversations, tell our stories and reflect our culture since 1932. In its 86th year, the ABC remains the country’s most trusted media organisation and is watched, read or listened to by more than 70% of adult Australians each week. Despite this, some are questioning whether we still need an ABC when we have a world of news and entertainment at our finger tips and global players are increasing competitive pressure on Australia’s commercial media operators. ABC Chairman Justin Milne speaks to why these factors mean the ABC is more important than ever and how its ongoing digital transformation is strengthening Australian culture and the broader media sector. pastevent
