DIVERSITY & INCLUSION - WOMEN IN SPORT & BUSINESS

Panel of Speakers: Peggy O’Neal, President of Richmond Football Club; Tanya Hosch, General Manager of Inclusion and Social Policy for the AFL and Kate Palmer, CEO, Australian Sports Commission

There has been a dramatic increase in the profile of women’s sport in the past two years with Michelle Payne winning the Melbourne Cup and the introduction of the first official women’s competition in the AFL leading the charge.

Glass ceilings are being broken and new opportunities are being created as links to sport can provide unique opportunities for individuals to build successful careers and develop strong business connections.

Opportunities for women in sport are not just limited to elite athletes - there are increased opportunities in sports leadership positions, administration, sports medicine, coaching, marketing and the media.

Increased profile of women’s sports does not translate into an equal playing field, issues of equal pay, media coverage, access to facilities and career progression opportunities still present challenges.

The expert panel assembled for this breakfast have extensive experience in these areas and will provide fantastic insights into opportunities for Women in Sport and Business.

Join David Galbally AM QC as he leads a panel discussion with:

• Peggy O’Neal, President of Richmond Football Club
• Tanya Hosch, General Manager of Inclusion and Social Policy for the AFL
• Kate Palmer, CEO, Australian Sports Commission
