PANELISTS

Kiersten Morkel; VP Culture and Capability, South32
Kiersten Morkel has over twenty years of experience working in human resources and organisational development for some of Australia’s largest companies. She is currently the Vice President of Culture and Capability at South32, a role she commenced in April 2018. Prior to this she worked at Rio Tinto and Wesfarmers in an array of senior and executive roles supporting change management, performance turnaround and cultural development. 

Denise Goldsworthy; Independent Director, Western Power

Denise is an experienced non-executive director, with a history of C-suite executive management that includes full P&L accountability, and a track record of making the right decisions for the right reasons in a world of problems and opportunities. Denise has proven experience on both sides of Board interactions, developed in manufacturing (steel), mining (iron ore, industrial minerals) and technology / innovation sectors, complemented by a range of other private and public organisations. 

Kristina Botsis; Manager – Commercial, Digital Transformation, Water Corporation
Kristina is the Commercial Manager in the Digital Transformation Group at the Water Corporation.  Kristina is responsible for managing technology contracts and risk and for the strategic sourcing for the Corporation’s digital transformation. Prior to joining the Corporation Kristina worked as a lawyer in private practice and routinely advised on mining and infrastructure projects and large dispute arising from those projects.  Kristina has a keen interest in diversity in the workplace and whilst in private practice Kristina was a member of the firms diversity council.

Dr. Vanessa Guthrie; Chair, Minerals Council of Australia
Dr Vanessa Guthrie is a highly accomplished Executive and Director with a career spanning thirty years in the resources sector, in diverse roles across gold, base metals, aluminium, oil and gas and uranium projects and operations

MODERATOR

Jose Castillo, Business Consultant, JC Management Consulting
José Castillo commenced his own business consultancy firm in 2015. Prior to starting his own business, José has gained over 20 years of experience working across the Civil & Mining, Energy & Power industries. He has most recently been assisting Aboriginal business to further develop their capabilities and to build a long term and sustainable business for his clients. In addition, José currently volunteers his time to various organisations including the Noongar Institute of Western Australia.
