ADVANCED MANUFACTURING
A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH BETWEEN QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY

AmCham Business Luncheon

About the Event

The Queensland Government has envisioned Queensland as an international market leader in the delivery of advanced manufacturing by 2026 and is delivering a suite of initiatives in partnership with industry.

With $30 million invested by the government into regional Manufacturing Hubs in Townsville, Cairns and Rockhampton, a focus on priority sectors such as defence, aerospace and biomedical, the announcement of Australia’s first Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Hub and the nations’ first Brewlab, what’s next?

Manufacturing in Queensland generates around $20 billion a year, and is a major employer for the state. The industry is critical to the state’s continued economic growth, creating jobs and upskilling avenues. However, manufacturers face pressure from high input costs and fierce competition from around the world in today’s dynamic and digital environment.

Manufacturing is evolving. Industry 4.0 - including robotics, autonomous systems, design-led thinking, Big Data and analytics - is transforming the industry, reducing costs, increasing productivity and improving global competitiveness.

  • How can manufacturers adopt these new technologies and practices to become more competitive?
  • How will the transition to advanced manufacturing help generate new jobs, support high-performing workplaces, and encourage reshoring of manufacturing activities?
  • What does it all mean for your industry?
Join AmCham to hear from our panel of experts who will discuss how advanced manufacturing is transforming Queensland’s future.
