Our panel of experts:

David Camerlengo, Commissioner of North America, Trade & Investment Queensland (TIQ)
David is based in Houston, Texas as TIQ’s Commissioner for North America. In this role, he oversees the trade and investment portfolio inclusive of the United States of America, Canada and Mexico markets. David will share his knowledge on market entry strategy, international pathways for startups and attracting investment into priority sectors such as biotech, bio-industrial, renewable energy and life sciences.

Linda Ginger, Chief Executive Officer, Growth Science
Linda has had the privilege of working as a marketing executive for several multinational organisations and in a consulting capacity with small–medium businesses. She will be sharing her knowledge of quantifying and managing investment risks and the key to consistently and efficiently delivering high impact results to increase the international competitiveness of your organisation.

Derek Brown, Queensland State Director, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
Derek is is responsible for managing DFAT’s engagement with a range of local stakeholders, including the State Government and Queensland’s business and academic communities. As a modern Asian studies graduate, Derek has had a diverse international career and developed his reputation as a forward thinker and insightful adviser. He has served overseas at the Australian High Commission in Port Moresby and the Australian Embassies in Tokyo and Ankara. Derek will be sharing his insights and knowledge of international business.

Adam Pearce, Associate Director SME – QLD & NT, Efic
Adam is responsible for new business origination and relationship management from exporters and companies operating within national and global export supply chains. Adam will be talking about how Efic can assist Queensland exporters with their financing needs including working capital support, financing for overseas expansion into the US (and other markets) and the provision of bonding (surety) support.

Douglas Wallace, Commercial Counselor ANZ, U.S. Consulate – Sydney, Australia, SelectUSA
Douglas serves at the U.S. Consulate in Sydney as Commercial Counselor where he is the senior ranking representative of the U.S. Department of Commerce in Australia, and manages U.S. trade promotion efforts and activities in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Douglas’ previous diplomatic assignments from 2003-17 have included three tours in Saudi Arabia, in addition to tours in Israel, Algeria, Morocco, San Francisco, and limited assignments in Kuwait, Jordan and Qatar. Douglas has also worked in the Commerce Department’s Office of Africa from 1998-2003 where he managed trade policy issues in West Africa.
