AGENDA

09:00 - 10:30
NO LIMITS: BLOW THE CAP OFF YOUR CAPCITY
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” John C. Maxwell

Developing our personal potential is the most critical step in harnessing the potential of others. This opening keynote will enhance the lives of leaders, professionals, and anyone who wants to achieve success and personal growth.

We often treat the word capacity as if it were a natural law of limitation. Unfortunately, most of us are much more comfortable defining what we perceive as off limits rather than what's really possible. Could it be that many of us have failed to expand our potential because we have allowed what we perceive as capacity to define us? What if our limits are not really our limits?

In his newest book, John Maxwell identifies 17 core capacities. Some of these are abilities we all already possess, such as energy, creativity and leadership. Others are aspects of our lives controlled by our choices, like our attitudes, character, and intentionality. Maxwell examines each of these capacities, and provides clear and actionable advice on how you can increase your potential in each. He will guide you on how to identify, grow, and apply your critical capacities. Once you've blown the "cap" off your capacities, you'll find yourself more successful and fulfilled in your daily life.

MORNING TEA

11:00 - 12:30
DEVELOPING THE LEADER WITHIN YOU
"If you are a leader, the true measure of your success is not getting people to work. It's not getting people to work hard. It is getting people to work hard together. That takes commitment." John C. Maxwell

Leadership is influence – nothing more, nothing less. And your ability to influence, that is, to gain followers, hinges on your ability to become a better leader. In this session, John Maxwell explains ten principles to enhance your leadership ability such as influence, integrity, attitude and vision.

This updated version of one of John’s most successful books focuses on a combination of tried and tested leadership laws based on the practical challenges of today’s workplace.
Immediately actionable ideas that will elevate your leadership include:

• What contemporary leadership skills are essential for success
• The five levels of leadership
• How to use 10 basic principles that can help you enhance your leadership
• How to elevate your leadership skills to drive engagement and performance

12:30 - 13:30
LUNCH

13:30 - 15:00
MULTIPLIERS: HOW THE BEST LEADERS MAKE EVERYONE SMARTER
“It isn’t how much you know that matters. What matters is how much access you have to what other people know. It isn’t just how intelligent your team members are; it is how much of that intelligence you can draw out and put to use.” Liz Wiseman

Are you a genius or a genius maker? We’ve all had experience with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drains intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always needs to be the smartest person in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment.

On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them. When these leaders walk into a room, light bulbs go off over people’s heads; ideas flow and problems get solved. These are the leaders who inspire employees to stretch themselves and get more from other people. These are the Multipliers. And the world needs more of them, especially now when leaders are expected to do more with less.

In this highly engaging talk, Liz Wiseman will share the research behind Multipliers and illustrate the resoundingly positive and profitable effect these Multipliers have on organisations – how they get more done with fewer resources, develop and attract talent, and cultivate new ideas and energy to drive organisational change and innovation. She’ll introduce the five disciplines that distinguish Multipliers from Diminishers and provide practice tips for leading like a Multiplier.

What could your organisation accomplish with access to all the intelligence that sits inside it?

THE FIVE QUESTION LEADER: WORK LESS HARD, HAVE MORE IMPACT
“You have to help people do more of the work that has impact and meaning.” Michael Bungay Stanier

THREE VICIOUS CIRCLES
Managers and leaders find themselves stuck in three vicious circles. They’re frustrated by teams that have become overdependent on them. They’re overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do. And they’re disconnected from their own Great Work - the work that has impact, the work that has meaning. Sound familiar?

In this practical, interactive and engaging session, participants will:
• Discover the three vicious circles that keep managers and their teams stuck
• Learn the five core questions they need so they (and those they lead) can focus on the work that matters
• Get three quick-to-master techniques to ask a question well (it’s harder to do than it sounds!)
