About the Event

Australia is facing a paradigm shift in the fuel and energy sectors on the pathway towards decarbonization.

Pressure to reduce emissions towards net-zero is driving the transition to electric, and low emissions fuel sources is also creating the potential for a boom industry in hydrogen exports, and in the critical minerals required for energy storage. The potential value-add opportunities through investment and R&D in these sectors can also offer Australia substantial long-term rewards.

Ampol CEO Matt Halliday is responding by committing more than $100M towards future energy projects such as fast charging vehicle infrastructure and alternative fuel projects. Key to this transition is research and investment from the national science agency, CSIRO, under Chief Executive Dr Larry Marshall in the decarbonization of industry, the business response to climate risk, and the creation of a new $11B hydrogen industry for Australia. Such projects have the potential to secure Australia’s future energy wealth, prosperity, and international competitiveness.

Join us to hear from Matt Halliday, CEO of Ampol, Dr Larry Marshall, Chief Executive of CSIRO, and Ainsley Simpson, CEO of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia to discuss Australia's future energy supply and security.
