On this mission you will visit:

• Australian Synchrotron

The Australian Synchrotron empowers industry to problem-solve and innovate, revealing how matter fits together, moves, interacts and changes in a way that outshines what can be achieved in any conventional laboratory. The in-house experts help industry partners to overcome technical hurdles and drive product innovation.

• Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication

MCN is a world-class, purpose-built facility boasting state-of-the-art cleanrooms at class 10,000 and class 100, reconfigurable biochemistry and PC2 labs, a microscopy lab and focused ion beam lab. These specialised work environments house top-of-the-line micro/nano fabrication equipment and instrumentation.

• Lunch with Monash PHD Students

Enjoy a discussion over lunch with PHD students, discuss their research topics, the applications for industry and business opportunities.

• Monash University (three research centres)

Monash University is an Australian public research university. Monash is in the top 20% in teaching, top 10% in international outlook, top 20% in industry income and top 10% in research in the world. Research projects undertaken at Monash have a desire to make a difference. From investigating how the body regenerates to revolutionizing the use of metals in manufacturing, their work continues to develop ground-breaking research that has the potential to transform lives.


CSIRO is Australia’s largest research agency, established in 1916. They use applied science and research to solve problems and make a difference to the economy, society and the environment. CSIRO collaborates with industry (from SMEs to multinationals), government and universities in Australia and around the world. They cover a broad depth & breadth of sectors including: Agriculture & Food, Data & Digital, Energy, Minerals, Manufacturing, Health & Biosecurity, Land & Water, Oceans & Atmosphere, and Astronomy & Space. Collaborating on research, licensing IP, researcher-in-business, incubating high-tech start-ups are just some ways they partner.
