Based on the new threat environment facing today’s organisations, leaders are challenged not only to protect data assets but also the personal data of their employees. Making security everyone’s responsibility means changing the culture of most organisations. Leaders need to get their team on board the information security train. Be the owner of that change and lead by example by showing the importance of effective cyber security.

Mr. Bitko currently serves as the Chief Information Officer of the FBI. Appointed to this position in April of 2016, Mr. Bitko is responsible for overseeing the FBI’s strategy, process, and organisational structures for delivering Information Technology. His office supports the information technology needs of more than 50,000 FBI employees, partners, and contractors; provides oversight of almost $1.5B in annual expenditures; and impacts the more than 5,000 FBI information technology personnel.

Mr. Bitko joined the FBI in 2007 and was assigned to the Corporate Policy Office of the Resource Planning Office. As the project manager for the creation of the Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide (DIOG), he coordinated a small and efficient team of agents, attorneys, and operational division representatives who rewrote all FBI operational policies to bring them into compliance with the new Attorney General Guidelines for Domestic Investigations. In 2009, in recognition of his work, he received the Director's Annual Award for Excellence.

Join us for a conversation with Gordon Bitko, who will share his thoughts on cyber safeguarding.
