Aerospace and Defence Mission to the USA
15-20 October, 2017
Washington D.C., Virginia, and Mobile, Alabama, USA
This October, AmCham will hold our first aerospace and defence mission to the United States on the topic of innovation in this important industry. Our Mission will bring together up to 50 Australian executives from leading aerospace and defence companies in Australia and leading Australian government agencies, universities, and more. We plan to run the mission from Sunday, October 15, 2017 through Friday, October 20, 2017. Maureen Dougherty, President of Boeing Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific, will lead the delegation in her capacity as Chairman of AmCham Australia.

The Mission will take us to Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Mobile, Alabama. Along the way, we plan to visit major companies and government agencies such as Naval Station Norfolk, the largest naval base in the USA; Huntington-Ingalls Shipbuilding at Newport News; Northrop Grumman; Lockheed Martin; Austal; the Pentagon; and the CIA, to see first-hand a major Australian aerospace/defence company with a substantial investment in the USA and to look at the innovative culture and operations of an Australian investment in the USA.
